Our Story

Brief History of HCF

Harvest Centre Fellowship is a vibrant church composed of Christian families from many different walks of life, with diverse backgrounds joined together in the pursuit of inviting God's Presence into every part of their lives.

HCF church is known for its passionate worship, relevant Bible-based teaching, and its focus on reaching those far from God in our community. Through the years, this ministry has become a shelter for those who are heartbroken and looking for a genuine encounter with God and His transforming power.

People witness the love of God and His redeeming power in each service and in their daily lives. No matter where you find yourself in life, you are welcome at HCF — no one is beyond the reach of God's love.

What We Believe

Our Doctrine

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God and the final authority for faith and practice in our lives.

Salvation

We believe in salvation through faith in Jesus Christ alone — His death on the cross and resurrection from the dead provides forgiveness and eternal life.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit operating in the Church today for ministry and service.

OUR STORY

The History & Vision of Harvest Centre Fellowship

Harvest Centre Fellowship (HCF) is a vibrant, spirit-filled Christian church located in Kangemi, Nairobi, Kenya. Founded on the unshakeable truth of God's Word and the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, HCF was established with a clear mandate: to be a transformational centre of spiritual harvest in Kangemi, across Nairobi, and to the nations beyond Kenya.

The church was founded and is led by Bishop Philemon Wachara — a man of deep faith, prophetic vision, and pastoral heart. Under his leadership, what began as a small gathering of believers in Kangemi has grown into a thriving congregation with multiple branches, active ministries spanning every age group, and a growing online presence that reaches believers across Africa and beyond.

Our name — Harvest Centre Fellowship — is itself a declaration of purpose. We are a centre of harvest: a place where souls are won, lives are restored, families are healed, and disciples are made. We believe the fields are ripe for harvest (John 4:35), and we position ourselves as labourers in that harvest, committed to the Great Commission until Christ returns.

Our Vision & Mission

Our vision is to build a Spirit-filled community of transformed believers who impact Kangemi, Nairobi, Kenya, and the world through the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our mission is to win the lost, disciple the saved, equip the called, and send the commissioned — all to the glory of God. Every ministry department at HCF, every Sunday service, every midweek Bible study, every outreach event exists in service of this mission.

Our anchor scripture — "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13) — captures the spirit of HCF. We do not rely on human strength, resources, or strategies alone. We do all things in the power of Christ, which is the only strength that never fails.

Our Beliefs & Doctrine

Harvest Centre Fellowship is a Pentecostal, evangelical Christian church that holds to the historic orthodox Christian faith as revealed in the Holy Scriptures. We believe:

The Bible

The Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God — our supreme guide for faith and practice.

Salvation

Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. We believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus as the only basis for forgiveness of sins.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues, and in the continuing operation of the gifts of the Spirit for the church today.

The Church

The Church is the body of Christ, called to worship God, make disciples, care for one another, and advance the Kingdom of God in the world through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Service Times & Location

Harvest Centre Fellowship holds services every Sunday at our main hall in Kangemi, Nairobi, Kenya. We have two Sunday services to accommodate our growing congregation:

  • 1st Sunday Service: 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM
  • 2nd Sunday Service: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM (also streamed live on YouTube)
  • Wednesday Midweek Bible Study: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
